Luana & Michael | The Wedding

Luana & Michael were married in Canberra last month and it really was an incredible day to photograph. A vibrant wedding packed full of tradition and culture!

I started with Michael & the Boys & got so excited when this is what I saw when I walked in the front door.

I love when couples organise gifts for each other to open as they’re getting ready.

Isn’t Luana’s headpiece stunning!

Just as Luana finished getting ready, and a bunch of relatives arrived, 2 Lebanese drummers walked through the door and the atmosphere skyrocketed!

Luana & Michael had a traditional Melkite Catholic ceremony at St Christopher’s Cathedral in Manuka.

Karen & James | The Wedding

Back in March, just 2 days after getting home from Karla & Corey’s wedding in Vanuatu, I was back at the airport and off to Alice Springs for Karen & James’ wedding. You might remember them from their engagement session last year at Simpsons Gap.

There was not a cloud in the sky and everything was perfect!

The atmosphere at the girls hotel was super fun. Everything was organised and running ahead of schedule!

I then headed off to see the boys and while there were some nerves kicking around, it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.

Afterwards, we all headed out to the Telegraph Station for the bridal party portraits. It’s such a fantastic location with a great mix of heritage buildings & stockyards combined with amazing light!

Ana & Mark | The Wedding

Ana is one of my best friends, you may recognise her as the bouquet catcher from my wedding :)

We’ve known each other for over 13 years, all the way back to the first day of O Week at uni! Despite the fact that we usually only see each other a handful of times each year, we always talk at least twice a week.

Ana & Mark were married way back in January on Australia Day! It was so much fun, with the added bonus of hubby tagging along and carrying my bags for most of the day.

I even slept over at her parent’s house the night before to help get everything finalised.

Except for the Nutbush. This is Mark’s dad. When I met him in the morning while the boys were getting ready, he asked me if I thought they’d play the Nutbush at the reception. I knew it wasn’t on the playlist (as Ana & I were working on it half the night), but I told him I was pretty sure I could pull some strings. He got all excited and said “I hope they do, because when it comes on, I’ll carve it up”. And he most certainly did.

I’m not entirely sure of the origins or meaning, but there’s a Croatian of throwing lollies and coins for all the kids to collect. They loved it!
