When I’m not working for my clients, my favourite thing to shoot is Ice Hockey. The Boy has been playing for almost 20 years & I’ve barely missed a game in the 4 years we’ve been together. Late every Sunday night we head out to one of the few Sydney rinks & it’s often the highlight of my week.
The single most critical thing in sports photography is anticipating what will happen next. There’s nothing like nailing a shot of the puck hitting the net, or someone mid air about to face plant into the ice.
The 2011 Ice Hockey season is only a couple of weeks away, so I thought I’d share a few of the highlights from 2010.

Note the size of the crowd…that’s considered a full house!

GOAL!!!!

It really amazes me sometimes they don’t get more injured.

Good luck Kings!
