Who knew Canberra could be so much fun :)

I’ve always been pretty confident about the way I do things, but there was that little voice inside my head asking what I could do better. Enter Christine! I’ve been following her blog for a long long time & greatly admire her work, so when she started offering mentor sessions, I emailed her pretty much straight away! We spent the next few weeks emailing back & forth & by the time we actually met, it was like I’d known her for years. Everything just clicked! (Anyone who regularly uses words like huzzah is alright in my book!)

So on the June long weekend I travelled down to Canberra for my day with Christine. Oh my goodness it was sooooo much fun!! What did we get up to you ask? Well, talked and talked about EVERYTHING photography & running a business, then in the afternoon we met a gorgeous little family for a fun shoot in the lurvely winter sun :)

Meet Melanie, one simply stunning little girl! I loved her outfit :)

In the Alice

If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you might remember Sky & Mick from their engagement session back in January. What you might not realise is they actually live in Alice Springs with their completely adorable little foster kids Terrence & Nicole.

Pretty much as soon as Sky & Mick got the DVD from their engagement session, they said they wanted a family shoot with the kids in Alice whenever I was heading up to meet the twinnies.

I was soooo excited when Sky said she wanted to do the session at Simpson’s Gap. It is STUNNING!!! It’s only about 10km from town, and just completely sums up the beauty of the Alice to me :)

This next photo of Terrence just might go down as one of my favourite images of all time!

When photographing kids, the best think to do is just follow them around and let them do their thing. For Terrence, that was chasing grasshoppers!
