I love taking photos of families! Whether it’s just mum, dad and the kids, or extended families with grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins. It’s often rare to get everyone together outside of weddings, and can be nice to get the big group photos in a more relaxed environment. Check out the latest sessions here…

Who knew Canberra could be so much fun :)

I’ve always been pretty confident about the way I do things, but there was that little voice inside my head asking what I could do better. Enter Christine! I’ve been following her blog for a long time & greatly admire her work, so when she started offering mentor sessions, I emailed her pretty much straight away! We spent the next few weeks emailing back & forth & by the time we actually met, it was like I’d known her for years. Everything just clicked! (Anyone who regularly uses words like huzzah is alright in my book!)

So on the June long weekend I travelled down to Canberra for my day with Christine. Oh my goodness it was so much fun!! What did we get up to you ask? Well, talked and talked about EVERYTHING photography & running a business, then in the afternoon we met a gorgeous little family for a fun shoot in the lovely winter sun :)

Meet Melanie, one simply stunning little girl! I loved her outfit :)

Leo was such a boy – he kept falling over in the reeds just so he could roll around a bit :) Gosh he made me laugh!

Christine, thank you again. You are seriously one of the nicest, genuine & most giving people I’ve ever met! Can’t wait to see you again :)

In the Alice

If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you might remember Sky & Mick from their engagement session back in January. What you might not realise is they actually live in Alice Springs with their completely adorable little foster kids Terrence & Nicole.

Pretty much as soon as Sky & Mick got the DVD from their engagement session, they said they wanted a family shoot with the kids in Alice whenever I was heading up to meet the twinnies.

I was so excited when Sky said she wanted to do the session at Simpsons Gap. It is STUNNING!!! It’s only about 10km from town, and just completely sums up the beauty of the Alice to me :)

This photo of Terrence just might go down as one of my favourite images of all time!

When photographing kids, the best thing to do is just follow them around and let them do their thing. For Terrence, that was chasing grasshoppers!

Sky & Mick, you are such an inspiration!

Little Girls

Last week in Alice Springs I had the opportunity to photograph this adorable little family. Jac & Brad have the cutest little girls.  Mia loved playing with her little sister & hiding in the garden. Ruby has the most incredible big blue eyes I’ve ever seen on a baby.
