This weekend has been my first weekend off shooting since February…and February seems like a looooong time ago. Still, I’ve loved every second of it, even when it seems I’m buried neck deep in editing.
Charlie & Digby taught me this very important lesson when I was in Alice Springs a month ago – Head down, bum up & there’ll be a reward when you eventually surface :)
Last weekend I headed to Alice Springs to spend a few wonderful days with my family, catch up with some friends as well as squeeze in a few sessions for some of my lovely clients.
The biggest drawcard however was to meet my beautiful brand new niece, Majella for the very first time!
Before I get into the photos of the little beauty, here’s a hilarious outtake from the session. After a few initial shots, I asked Shell to strip Majella naked (coz we all know there’s nothing cuter than a nakie baby) – while she was getting settled, Charlie & Digby both proceeded to strip themselves naked and pose on the cushion :)

On Christmas Day in 2009 I launched my business with The Shelly Belly as my first post. My gorgeous sister, 36 weeks pregnant with blog regulars Charlie & Digby.
Now, just over 2 years later, the belly is full again with another one! I can’t wait for the addition of a niece or another nephew and am super excited to be flying up to Alice 2 weeks after her due date to meet and photograph the brand new bub!
So here’s Shelly again, with one on the inside, and the two gorgeous little fellas on the outside :)
It’s so cute watching Charlie play with her belly. Blowing rhasberries, reaching up to touch it, & using it as a rather convenient seat :)
Digby has recently taken to referring to himself as Bibby (Shell reckons its Bigby, but I can’t hear the g). Anyway, it’s completely adorable!
The still shot doesn’t really do it justice, but Charlie has a new move, dubbed the Old Man Dance. Really slowly walking, wobbling side to side, flailing his arms about. Very very funny!
I am just bursting with excitement to meet the little one, and watch the boys become big brothers.

It’s funny because Digby and I at 1 year old are the same, now Charlie and I at two are really similar. He’s still a mini Dean though :)
