Trent & Candy have been together almost 4 years, just a few weeks longer than The Boy & I, & it’s been great fun getting to know them both individually and as a couple over that time. You see, Trent & The Boy were apprentices together about a dozen years ago & still catch up regularly to go fishing (Trent seems to be a bit of a lucky charm, as they always seem to come back with tonnes more fish than when I go…but that’s another story!).
When ever I tell the story of how Trent proposed to Candy, about 1/2 the people laugh and say it’s fantastic, the other half gasp and ask what was he thinking…
It goes a little something like this. Trent & Candy regularly go for walks down to the water at Gladesville & sit perched on a particular rock to watch the sunset. This particular day, seemed no stranger than any other. They’re both sitting on the rock when Trent spies a plastic bag on the ground. He starts ranting about how careless people are, the environment and all that, when he reaches into the bag and pulls out the ring he’d stashed earlier.
I always think the best proposal stories are the ones where it’s completely unexpected in the moment, not one of the ones that the girl is crying for 5 minutes before he can get the words out. I’m pretty sure, in amongst the plastic bag tirade, there was no way on earth Candy would have anticipated what came next.
The wedding day itself was spectacular, gorgeous skies and hot! Both the ceremony and reception were held at Banjo Paterson Cottage Restaurant, Gladesville. It’s such a stunning old venue, not to mention the view!

Trent was so cool and calm before the Ceremony, mingling with everyone as they arrived.

Candy got all teary as she got out of the car and spent a few minutes inside to get it together before things started.

She walked alone down the aisle towards Trent, and I love the photo of her father looking on.

I shared these few pics the day after the wedding. During the ‘honour & obey’ part of the ceremony, Trent pulled a face & Candy lost it…for a good few minutes. It was hilarous.
