Jade & Matt

Matt and I met when we were sixteen years old, and were pretty much inseparable from then onwards. From the beginning we knew we were made for each other and would one day commit our lives to one another, the only question being timing. Six years later we tied the knot in the beautiful gardens of Roberts Restaurant. We both thought that the hidden field lined with trees would be the ideal location for our garden ceremony.

One of our guests kindly shared afterwards that at one point during the vows, the leaves shone the brightest green and the birds sung softly, emulating a Disney movie. This was the biggest compliment for me, as it truly felt like a dream.

Our faith is also of great importance to us, so it meant a lot that we were able to sing hymns, which was definitely a memorable part of the day, listening to the voices of 100 of our dearest family and friends echo through the valley.

Another reason why we chose Roberts was because it is in the stunning Hunter Valley, which has an abundance of suitable locations for photography. Our amazing photographer Kellee Walsh sourced and shot the bridal party in an incredibly scenic long grassed meadow with mountains in the background.

The reception was held in Roberts Restaurant dining hall, which provides rustic aesthetics with fantastic food and wine. The dining hall was decorated with candles, vintage books and flowers to compliment the natural beauty and character of the room. We used vintage suitcases as the honeymoon wishing well. We also had little jars of lollies presented on a candy buffet with a thank-you bunting.

Overall we wanted the wedding to be both entertaining and fun, but more importantly reflect the seriousness of our commitment and our genuinely deep love for one another.
