Patty & John’s wedding was quite different for me. The entire ceremony and much of the reception were spoken in Korean and it completely changed the way I saw things for the day. I couldn’t rely on hearing beautiful words and anticipating a reaction, everything was visual, and it was incredible. One thing I know for certain is that love and laughter translate in every language!
Everyone got ready at the Shangrila Hotel in The Rocks. While I’ve done a few first looks in the past, it was the first time I’ve had a bride and groom actually get ready together. Admittedly, John left before Patty got into her dress, but it was very sweet to watch her putting on his bow tie :)
The ceremony was held at St Mary’s Cathedral. Only a few weeks after Kami & Stephen’s wedding there!
This church is breathtaking!
Her smile says it all.
A few portraits across the road in Hyde Park…
We then headed down to Mrs Macquaries Chair for a few more with the big landmarks.
The reception was in the Grand Ballroom at the Shangrila Hotel.
The reception incorporated a traditional Korean Tea Ceremony. So much colour!
John had to carry Patty around the room as a symbol that he would always take care of her.
One thing for certain, the Koreans know how to party :)
Another crazy photobooth :)
Patty & John, I hope you had the best day ever! I certainly had an amazing time capturing it for you xx
Timeless imagery; well done.
Love the B&W of the bride and groom walking back down the aisle. Great shot!
