Faye & Ming | Elopement

Faye & Ming flew over from Singapore in February to elope in Sydney. We planned for the ceremony to coincide with the sunrise, but the clouds had other ideas. Still, it was incredible to capture their ceremony at Mrs Macquaries Chair amongst the silence of the city.

Despite having known each other for years, it was the first time Robyn Pattison & I have worked together. Her ceremonies are so incredibly beautiful!

The best ceremonies are the ones where everyone is doubled over laughing. Certainly more memorable than stiff and solemn. After all, it should be a joyous occasion!

After the ceremony, we left Mrs Macquaries Chair and spent another hour or so wandering around the city. From the Botanic Gardens to the Opera House

The Botanic Gardens are like 100 locations in one. Everywhere you turn, it’s a different backdrop, with a different feeling. I love it.

It felt like we were the only people in Sydney who were awake. So peaceful!

One thing is for sure, if you’re going to fly all the way to Sydney to elope, you simply must head to the Opera House steps for a few portraits.

Congratulations Faye and Ming. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the quiet of the morning with you. All the best back in Singapore!

Kelsi & Chris | Engaged

Kelsi & Chris are getting married in October this year and I’m pretty excited. They’ve chosen Belgenny Farm & I’ve been dying to shoot there for years! More on that later in the year though…

We met up in November for their engagement session at the Australian Botanic  Garden at Mount Annan. A gorgeous place with endless spots to shoot!

The weather had been pretty ordinary all week, and it looked like we might need to postpone. It was pouring rain when I started driving but Kelsi said it looked like it was clearing out her way. Fortunately she was right, I couldn’t be happier we went ahead!

Sarah & Scott | Wedding

Sarah & Scott’s wedding was held on one of the most glorious Saturday’s Sydney has seen for months! You might remember them, and their adorable son Joshua, from their Engagement Session earlier this year.

Sarah’s dress was simply gorgeous, but it wasn’t the one she originally bought. It ended up getting stuck in Customs for a couple of weeks, and with no idea when it would ultimately be released, she had to bite the bullet and buy another one. Once she was dressed, all of her bridesmaids said it was a great thing to have happened because they couldn’t imagine her wearing anything else.

I love the way her father looks like he’s bursting with pride when he sees her for the first time.

Apparently the boys do a lot of ‘planking’ at work. I was holding my breath taking this shot, so nervous he’d end up in the harbour!
