Caterina & Ade | Wedding

Caterina & Ade’s last month was held on a glorious Sydney morning and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph. You might remember them from their engagement session a few weeks prior.

After the ceremony, we headed to Balmoral for the lunchtime reception, but before heading in, we spent a few minutes on the pier.

At the end of the reception, a water taxi arrived to take them to their hotel in the city. The sun was just beginning to set and the light looked incredible. Caterina & Ade asked me if I wanted to join them for the ride and take a few more portraits and I jumped at the chance. The results were amazing!

Ana & Mark | Wedding

Ana is one of my best friends, you may recognise her as the bouquet catcher from my wedding :)

We’ve known each other for over 13 years, all the way back to the first day of O Week at uni! Despite the fact that we usually only see each other a handful of times each year, we always talk at least twice a week.

Ana & Mark were married way back in January on Australia Day! It was so much fun, with the added bonus of The Fisherman tagging along and carrying my bags for most of the day.

I even slept over at her parent’s house the night before to help get everything finalised.

The deep breath Mark took as Ana came into view almost brought me to tears!

The reception was so much fun! Croatian dancing all night :)

Except for the Nutbush. This is Mark’s dad. When I met him in the morning while the boys were getting ready, he asked me if I thought they’d play the Nutbush at the reception. I knew it wasn’t on the playlist (as Ana & I were working on it half the night), but I told him I was pretty sure I could pull some strings. He got all excited and said “I hope they do, because when it comes on, I’ll carve it up”. And he most certainly did.

I’m not entirely sure of the origins or meaning, but there’s a Croatian of throwing lollies and coins for all the kids to collect. They loved it!

Caterina & Ade | Engaged

A few weeks ago I photographed Caterina & Ade’s engagement session at Carriageworks and Centennial Park. What made this session a little extra special, is it served a double purpose as a maternity session as well!

We started out at Carriageworks in Eveleigh Railway Workshops for some urban shots. It’s such an incredible place to explore when there’s no one else around. The rustic heritage rescued from the brink of dereliction. So many incredible lines and little vignettes.

There’s pure bliss in the way they look at each other.

A quick outfit change and we headed off for Centennial Park for a completely different look and feel for the remainder of the session.

I just love shooting at Centennial Park. There’s so much variety throughout the park and you can get so many different looks in the one place.

Even amidst all the big smiles and laughing shots, it’s nice to pare it back to little sweet and tender moments like this!

These two are going to be such wonderful parents, I can’t wait to share their wedding.

**EDIT** If you’ve come across this blog post a little more recently, you can check out their gorgeous lunchtime wedding at Balmoral.
