Mrs Macquarie’s Chair

Rachel & Patrick | Wedding

Rachel & Patrick were married on a cool but clear winters day in the chapel at St Vincent’s College followed by a reception at Zest Point Piper.

I started the day Rachel & her bridesmaids getting ready at the Intercontinental Double Bay.

Long lace sleeves should be a bigger thing. Divine!

Rachel went to school at Vinnies and had always planned to head back on her wedding day to be married in this incredible chapel.

Just look at how happy they are!! Both in how they beam at their friends and family, then the way they look at each other.

After the ceremony, we headed to Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for some portraits as the sun was setting. Golden hour in Sydney at it’s finest.

As part of their reception entrance, they insisted absolutely everyone get straight up on the dancefloor with them & get the party started from the get-go. Seriously, everyone should do this!

Faye & Ming | Elopement

Faye & Ming flew over from Singapore in February to elope in Sydney. We planned for the ceremony to coincide with the sunrise, but the clouds had other ideas. Still, it was incredible to capture their ceremony at Mrs Macquaries Chair amongst the silence of the city.

Despite having known each other for years, it was the first time Robyn Pattison & I have worked together. Her ceremonies are so incredibly beautiful!

The best ceremonies are the ones where everyone is doubled over laughing. Certainly more memorable than stiff and solemn. After all, it should be a joyous occasion!

After the ceremony, we left Mrs Macquaries Chair and spent another hour or so wandering around the city. From the Botanic Gardens to the Opera House

The Botanic Gardens are like 100 locations in one. Everywhere you turn, it’s a different backdrop, with a different feeling. I love it.

It felt like we were the only people in Sydney who were awake. So peaceful!

One thing is for sure, if you’re going to fly all the way to Sydney to elope, you simply must head to the Opera House steps for a few portraits.

Congratulations Faye and Ming. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the quiet of the morning with you. All the best back in Singapore!
