Simpsons Gap

Karen & James | Engaged

Karen & James are getting married next year & I couldn’t be more excited to fly up to Alice again to photograph it. We had their engagement session at Simpsons Gap a short drive from town.  It’s one of my favourite locations in the area.

Simply put, they are adorable together & I just love the way they look at each other :)

As a part of my recent weekend in Alice Springs, I offered a mini session at Simpsons Gap a few minutes out of town.

Julia contacted me as soon as I posted the offer on Facebook wanting a few photos of her 17 month old little girl, Tara.

The thing I love about toddlers this age is they wear their hearts on their sleeve. If they feel it, they show it. The ups, the downs and everything in between.

Tara was all of that & I had a great time photographing her. From cuddles with mum, to squealing with excitement. From jumping in puddles, to tearing off her wet clothes and running around in the sand :)

The stuffed animal totally makes this shot for me.

In the Alice

If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you might remember Sky & Mick from their engagement session back in January. What you might not realise is they actually live in Alice Springs with their completely adorable little foster kids Terrence & Nicole.

Pretty much as soon as Sky & Mick got the DVD from their engagement session, they said they wanted a family shoot with the kids in Alice whenever I was heading up to meet the twinnies.

I was so excited when Sky said she wanted to do the session at Simpsons Gap. It is STUNNING!!! It’s only about 10km from town, and just completely sums up the beauty of the Alice to me :)

This photo of Terrence just might go down as one of my favourite images of all time!

Love love love the smiles on these kids’ faces

When photographing kids, the best thing to do is just follow them around and let them do their thing. For Terrence, that was chasing grasshoppers!

…and rescuing teeny tiny fish from the drying up trickle of water. So sweet :)
