Ana is one of my best friends, you may recognise her as the bouquet catcher from my wedding :)
We’ve known each other for over 13 years, all the way back to the first day of O Week at uni! Despite the fact that we usually only see each other a handful of times each year, we always talk at least twice a week.
Ana & Mark were married way back in January on Australia Day! It was so much fun, with the added bonus of The Fisherman tagging along and carrying my bags for most of the day.
I even slept over at her parent’s house the night before to help get everything finalised.
Our dresses were actually made my the same designer – Mandy Heng
Doesn’t she have the most incredible smile!
Mark and the boys seemed pretty relaxed.
The ceremony was held at St Anthony’s in Summer Hill.
The deep breath Mark took as Ana came into view almost brought me to tears!
Flowergirls are the best :)
The reception was held at Doltone House in Sylvania Waters. The food was amaaaaazing!!
The reception was so much fun! Croatian dancing all night :)
Except for the Nutbush. This is Mark’s dad. When I met him in the morning while the boys were getting ready, he asked me if I thought they’d play the Nutbush at the reception. I knew it wasn’t on the playlist (as Ana & I were working on it half the night), but I told him I was pretty sure I could pull some strings. He got all excited and said “I hope they do, because when it comes on, I’ll carve it up”. And he most certainly did.
I’m not entirely sure of the origins or meaning, but there’s a Croatian of throwing lollies and coins for all the kids to collect. They loved it!
This is how to make an exit!
