Shirley & Wilson | Engaged

Shirley & Wilson got married on Saturday & it what was one massive celebration! But first I need to introduce them through their engagement session from last year. You may even recognise Shirley as one of Jasmine & Ivan’s bridesmaids.

It’s no secret I love sunrise. It’s such a magical time of day. You have the beach almost completely to yourselves. The light is so soft and beautiful.

We started out the session at Palm Beach, before climbing up Mona Vale headland to take in one of the best views in town.

Despite clear skies overhead, the horizon was quite dark and ominous looking, which meant the sun took a lot longer to rise than expected. But oh was it worth it!

2013 | The Year That Was…

2013…wow! What an amazing year!!!!

It started with my own wedding in Fiji, most definitely the best day of my life. But 2013 was much more than that. Lots of traveling across the country, across the pacific & all over Sydney.

This post is a glimpse into the places I’ve been and the people I’ve met along the way…in no particular order :)

Kathryn & Brett | Wedding

It’s hard to know where to begin to describe Kathryn & Brett’s wedding.

Arriving at the house in Byron Bay the day before and being greeted by a family I already knew was extremely special. You see, I’ve photographed Kathryn before, when she was Carly’s bridesmaid back in March.

Being able to witness, capture and be a part of two major chapters in one family’s book is a great privilege.

The weather on the Friday was a little dicey with pretty strong winds, and while the forecast said it’d be gone by morning, everyone was pretty doubtful. When I woke in the morning however, it was perfectly still, setting the stage for one incredible day.

The girls got ready at the Tree House just up the road from everyone else. There was not a hint of stress in the air at all.

Brett was the picture of calm too :)

The ceremony was held on Wategos Beach in the pre-dawn light, with the sun appearing over the headland just as they began their vows!

A divine champagne breakfast followed on the deck back at the house. I adored the elegance in it’s simplicity.

By midday the formalities were over, and it time for naps and a swim at the beach. Bliss!

Congratulations again Kathryn & Brett!!!!
